Dr. Abid Shah and I went to the sme English langauge class at the American English Language Center in February 1996. Known now as the Oasis Academy, the then American English Language Center of Sir Zahir Baloch, is indeed the greatest thing that has ever happened to Panjgur. Educated in the US under a USAID-sponsored program, Sir Zahir, a local resident of Panjgur, started a small educational center on his return from the US which has now emerged as a vision-imparting major edifice in the remote border district.
