About HHH Fellowship
I already had a little knowledge about Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship because I wanted to apply for it a few years ago but fell short of some of its requirements. This year, I was in a better position to apply and was hopeful about being selected for this coveted fellowship.

Program Summary: The United States Education Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), a bi-national commission, invites applications for the Hubert H. Humphrey Program. This non-degree program is designed for mid-career professionals and lasts between 10-12 months, beginning in fall 2010, of graduate-level non-degree academic coursework and an opportunity to work in the U.S. in a field related to their specialization. Humphrey fellows are expected to share their Pakistani experiences with colleagues and friends in the United States and vice versa once they return home. This special recruitment is only for Journalists.
Grant Benefits: The grant funds tuition, airfare, a living stipend and health insurance. USEFP will assist Humphrey Fellows with the visa process.
Eligibility: Successful applicants must be committed to serving Pakistan. They must be Pakistani citizens with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional/work experience, coupled with a four-year degree and a guarantee of re-employment upon return to Pakistan. Applicants must possess a high level of fluency in spoken and written English. Successful candidates should be poised to assume leadership positions in their field.
Who is ineligible? Those who attended graduate school in the U.S. in the last seven years or who have had long-term U.S. experience within the last five years. Also ineligible are persons with a dual U.S./Pakistan nationality or who have a spouse, fiancé, parent or child over the age of 18 who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Employees of the Fulbright organization or the U.S. Department of State are also ineligible.

All application materials (original and one copy), including references, must be received by USEFP by 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2009.
