What After Bramdagh’s Exile?

In the first week of February, the pro-independence Baloch Republican Party publically (BRP) announced that its head, Nawabzada Bramdagh Bugti, had fled to Switzerland to apply for political asylum. A grandson of former Balochistan governor and chief minister Nawab Akbar Bugti, twenty-nine year old Bramdagh Bugti has been at large since August 2006 when his grandfather was killed in a military operation.  Soon after senior Bugti’s killing, Bramdagh went underground, took control of a significant segment of the Baloch secessionist movement and unleashed a violent anti-government insurgency.
