Understanding the Baloch Press —Part 3


In July 2003, I attended the Young Leaders’ Conference (YLC) at Karachi Sheraton.  YLC is a unique six-day residential event intended to instill leadership qualities among the youth aging 18 to 24 years. These were the days when I was in love with the idea of becoming a journalist. I wanted to speak to everyone about the pros and cones of journalism.  I wanted to speak to everyone about the pros and cones of journalism. On the second day of the conference, which was entirely dedicated to “development leadership”, I encountered Pakistan’s former federal information minister and noted documentary movie maker Javed Jabbar, who spoke in one of the thematic intervention sessions.
