The Dictator at Woodrow Willson Center

Yesterday, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, a reputed think-tank based in Washington DC, hosted Pakistan’s former military dictator General Pervez Musharraf. It was highly deplorable to see such a prestigious institution host an anti-democracy man  who violated the constitution and embarked upon a process of enforced disappearance and killing of thousands of Baloch liberal and progressive activists in the country’s largest province of Balochistan.

Jane  Harman, a former Democrat Congresswoman who currently heads the Center, also disappointed champions of democracy and human rights by addressing Musharraf as the “president” and “perhaps the future president of Pakistan.”
